what is expressive arts therapy?

Healing through expression

We often believe that only a few chosen people, the artists, can express themselves through art. If we look at children, we realize that when they are young they create without worrying about whether or not they have mastered the technique and without fear of how their work will turn out. Creativity flows naturally in them because they need it to build themselves as a person.

Art therapy is based on the principle that everyone is creative, Creativity is inherent to us human beings and it’s a very direct way of entering into a relationship with ourselves.

Through multimodal art mediums we are able to bring forward the material of our lives, to find release through creativity, to express old stories in new ways, and activate our vitality by bringing awareness to the resources we have.

-It allows me to connect with pleasure, play, vitality.

-It gives me the opportunity to get to know myself better, to become more aware of what is happening to me, of my needs, blocks and desires.

-It gives me the opportunity to transform, reframe and re-build myself as a person, placing me in an active role in my growth and transformation.

Sessions can be one on one or in group.
